Danny Goodman's AppleScript Handbook
Currently in its second edition, this book is the one most often recommended by
experienced scripters. At the end of an article on a third-party script editor in
MacWeek magazine, reviewer Don Crabb rated the Handbook
"excellent." The second edition covers not only the basics of AppleScript, but
in-depth coverage of scripting the Finder and how to interpret the scripting
dictionaries of scriptable applications. Accompanying the book is a diskette with
over 100 sample scripts and sample documents to learn scripting the most popular
applications, such as FileMaker Pro and QuarkXPress, plus the scripting community's
favorite shareware scripting additions and two learner's scriptable applications.
It's Baaack! You can now purchase reprints
of the classic second edition direct from the new publisher. It may have a new cover, but everything
from the original publication is there for you. Details and an on-line version of the table of contents
can be found at iUniverse.
